SUSTAINABILITY is simply a word, a catch-all phrase defining human Quality of Life and livability of Planet Earth … . Defining sustainability and quality of life is at times elusive and confusing, and all too often just a “green” movement or bandwagon everyone seems to be trying to hitch a ride on these days. Yet, a fairly universal definition of sustainability is the integration and balance of the three “pillars” of sustainable development: (1) economy, progress or PROSPERITY, (2) social human issues and PEOPLE, and (3) the environment, planet, or PLACE.

Added to these three pillars is a fourth essential dimension: good governance, ethics, justice, spirituality, and peace: an essential web that binds together and sustains, strengthens communities and builds broad-based consensus through consultation and conflict resolution; … and objectively prioritizes and identifies the resources to effect meaningful change for a sustainable future for all, and for all time.
